Needed Item
We recently moved one of our cats out to the backyard to be an outside cat. We have just tried too many times to get him to use the litter box. Right now, he seems to be doing fine. However, winter is coming and I'm worried he can't stay warm. What would be nice is if I had an electric blanket that he could sleep on in his crate. However, I haven't seen one of those in a long time and I don't even know if you can buy those anymore. I just think it would be nice for him to have something I know will be warm in the winter time.
Late Night Comercials
Being up late with the baby the last few days, I have seen a few late night commercials. They range from kitchen appliances, to car cleaners, to the best acne treatment. I wonder if they really put those ads on at night because they think they will work. They actually do probably work very well because you are up late after work or studying or whatever and the purchases seem to be a great thing to do at the time. How funny a few hours of sleep can change a person's perspective about their decisions.
Fix It
If you live outside the U.S., you have got to be laughing your head off at the arguments against national healthcare. EVERY OTHER INDUSTRIALIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD PROVIDES FREE HEALTH CARE TO THEIR PEOPLE EXCEPT THE U.S. AND THEY ARE HEALTHIER FOR IT. I keep hearing people say there is nothing wrong with the healthcare in this country. I am very happy with mine and have had to use it. But I consider myself very lucky to have it. I have been on the other side of the coin and felt like a second-class citizen. My health was no different then, but for some reason, I couldn't go to the doctor like I can now because I couldn't afford it. For those who say there is nothing wrong with the healthcare in this country, try going without insurance. You'd be surprised with how bad the situation is. Stop telling me there is nothing wrong and to let the market fix it. THE MARKET IS THE PROBLEM HERE, NOT THE SOLUTION. Stop trying to stop reform. The problem has been out there forever and no one has tried to fix it. If you don't like the current proposals and say they won't work, then provide a solution that will work. We need a solution that will fix the problem, not make it easier to bear.
Banned
My brother-in-law were talking the other day about the health care system in this country and a drug commercial came on. We agreed that advertising prescription drugs should not be allowed. These are drugs like crestor, apidexin, or even viagra. I swear I see more diet pills and prescription pills ads then ever before. I personally think they shouldn't be allowed to push the pills as hard as they do. I think what pill you should be taking for your condition should be left up to the doctor. They go to school and know what the best thing is for the situations they encounter.
Breaking
I've been watching pictures of the floods in the south. The most memorable pictures are those that have breeches in the dikes. Roads have become rivers and rivers gave become lakes. How crazy a couple of years makes. A couple of years ago, the south was experiencing the worst drought in years. There were lakes that were gone. Now, they have more water than they can handle. I really hope they can recover from this and the weather will return to normal.
Unfinished Business
Before I was married, I was given the suggestion that I needed to pimp out my new car. That included all the car accessories you can think of like rims, lights, and inside lights. For some reason, I had other things to worry about, like paying for college and buying food. I didn't want to spend the money I didn't have to pimp out a car. But if you like all that stuff, go ahead. Buying those things is great. I guess it is just a matter of what your priorities are.
Sleeping Pattern Change
The past week or so, I have been sleeping downstairs with the baby. We are trying to break his sleeping pattern where he wakes up every hour because he wants to eat. That sleeping pattern is extremely hard on my wife because it takes her over an hour to get back to sleep once she is awake. In an attempt to break this pattern, I've been sleeping on the couch to get the baby to think that when he wakes up, there is no food there, so he has no reason to wake up. So far, it appears to be working. He only wakes up once or twice a night and most of the time just needs to be held and he'll go back to sleep. So, his pattern seems to be getting better. However, my pattern is getting shot. The last couple of days, my body has been at work, but my mind is still in bed.

In Every State
It seems whenever I turn the tv on, there is a commercial on talking about getting a lawyer if you are in an accident. And it is not just on tv. I see billboards promoting those lawyers when I am driving down the interstate. I seem to see the same kind of commercials in each state. There are ads for Idaho accident lawyers, Utah accident lawyers, and even Tennessee injury lawyers. I'm not sure what the advantage is of having an injury lawyer over a regular lawyer. But they sure try hard to get you to beleive you need one when you have an accident.
Every Weekend Should Be 3-Days
I like the idea of having a 4 day workweek. It seems to work fine in countries in Europe and they are more relaxed than us. In America, we try to cram as much into the 2 days of the weekend as possible. Which is ironic. The weekend is supposed to be the time to relax. But instead, we cram everything we can into those two days and we are busier than ever. If we had a three day weekend each week, we would have another day to "relax" each week.
You Never Know
When we moved to Pocatello for my first out-of-college job, we gave up all the life insurance that we had in Logan. That was because my life insurance was from my employer. I didn't get life insurance at my new employer because it wasn't that good and cost too much. Wouldn't you know, I was in a serious accident about 2 months after we moved there. It was an accident most people don't survive and I'm very grateful and luck to be alive. To all those out there without life insurance, I say get term life insurance now. If I had died that day, my family would have had nothing to help them out.
Odd Faucet Out
When we moved into our house, we didn't notice that the faucet in one of our bathrooms is unlike any other bathroom faucet we have ever seen. In fact, the faucet is a kitchen faucet, not a bathroom faucet. It's not a Kohler faucet or anything and I don't know why the faucet is so different, but it may have something to do with the vanity that is in that bathroom. There is no way to plug the sink by the faucet. That may be why they picked a kitchen faucet for that bathroom.
The First Thing
When I get home from work and I have settled in, the first thing I do is take my shoes off. I can't stand wearing shoes for that long. If I had the choice, I wouldn't wear shoes at work either. Maybe if I had some nice Naot shoes it would be different. My shoes aren't uncomfortable, I just like lounching around in my socks. Ya, when I buy a new package of socks, they generally don't stay white very long.
Best Part Of The Day
My favorite part of the day has to be to time after 8:30. It is about this time that one of our sons is in bed, our oldest son is usually playing with toys, and our youngest sone is asleep. It's great because we usually just pop in a good show and munch on snacks until it's time to go to bed. The house is calm, we're all tired, and it's just good to lay back and relax. It's a great way to end each day.

Aging
I was looking at myself in the mirror the other day. I must have too many kids already because wrinkles are starting to show up on my face. It is also possible that I think too hard because the wrinkles are mostly around my eyes and on my forehead. I may have to get some of those hcg injections Austin, Texas has to offer. Actually, I could probably find a closer place than that. When they become free, I may be the first in line.

Weekend Plans
This weekend we are heading up to Idaho. My wife is running a 10k tomorrow. I'm sure she'll do great, even though she doesn't think she will because she hasn't been training the last few months. I offered her my iPod to use while running since I always see people out running with Mp3 players, but she said the beat threw off her breathing and made it harder.
We are also spending the rest of the weekend at my family's house since I have the day off Monday for Labor Day. I love it when I get a 3 day weekend.
