Better Deal
Currently, we have the same auto insurance that we have had for a number of years. I've been tempted to find insurance online that may be better than the one we have. However, the one we currently have is also for our home and the auto insurance only costs 94 dollars a month for full coverage on both of our cars. To me, that seems like a great deal. If we really wanted to cut costs, we could reduce the insurance on our car to liability since the car is paid off. However, I like the idea of having full coverage on our car in case someone hits me we doesn't care about car insurance as much as we do.
Just In Case
I know people really don't like planning for the worst. I guess it's really not a fun thing to plan for things to go wrong. One things I'm glad I have through my employer is term insurance. We are blessed to have a great policy on me and my wife, as well as my kids. I know it sounds weird to have a life insurance on each of the kids, but the absolute worst could happen. I pray that it would never happen to anyone, but those things at least help a little bit if the worst happen. I do feel good to know that my family will be taken care of if the worst ever happened to me.
It's Finally Here
Spring in Utah is unlike spring anywhere else that I have experienced. In Utah, spring is like a teaser season. Beginning in March, the days will be warm one day, then for a week straight, it will snow and be back in the 30s again. It will do that for the next two months. Those two months are what constitute spring in Utah. Then, after that, we have 90 degree heat for 5 months straight.
Last week, it was nothing but rain and 40 degree weather. This week is completely different than that. It is going to be in the 70s all week long. It is honestly so nice. We were able to get the garden planted and I was able to get the sprinkler system turned on. It just feels so great to be able to get out of the house and be outside without a coat on again. I just hope the is the start of good weather ahead, not just a lapse in the usually weather cycle that is a Utah spring.

A Great School
My wife and I were recently talking about the schooling options out there for our children. We recently signed our two oldest children up for preschool and the next thing that will be in the loop will be signing our oldest up for elementary school. We can send him to the elementary school right across the street or we can sign him up for a charter school. We still haven't decided. We just want to give our kids the best education possible.
We also want to make sure we give them great teachers. After reviewing the St. Xavier's University MS Curriculum for Instruction, I would hope our children's teachers gained their education there. Their program promotes integrating technology into instruction as well as other essential like diversity. Their focus is on presenting information in a way that is effective and memorable. It's a well-established program that continues to produce results. Their curriculum teaches you how to teach effectively in grades K-12 as well as college and beyond. With the information I have gathered about this school, I really hope our kids get teachers who have gotten their education here.

Help For Those Who Need It
Every time I turn on the news, I hear of another celebrity who has entered drug rehab or another case where a person nearly loses everything because of drugs. I have never had a problem with drugs but i have family member who have and I personally can't understand the need for them. They are extremely expensive, both in money and priceless items like family benefits. They only give you a a temporary boost and your problems still exist when the high is over. In addition, they are illegal, which means if you a busted with them, you get a record that will be with you for the rest of your life. Again, I don't see the drive to have them. Apparently for others, they seem to be worth it enough to lose it all just to get them. Perhaps, they just don't understand all the facts about drugs.
For The First Time
Since being married, I have learned how to install and hook up a number of appliances. The first one I learned was a gas dryer and a washer. That knowledge has come in handy as we have moved a couple of times with our gas dryer. The second appliance I learned to hook up was a water line for the ice maker on a refrigerator. Again, that knowledge has come in handy in our new house when I had to hook up a different refrigerator. Since moving into our home here in West Jordan, I have learned how to repair and maintain a sprinkler system. Knowledge I know will come in handy in the future. This weekend, I learned a new one: a dishwasher. We found a new dishwasher this weekend. I didn't want to pay over a hundred dollars to have someone install, so I took it on myself to get it installed. With a lot of help from my wife, we were able to get it installed. Knocking on wood, everything appears to be working and nothing is leaking. It seemed like it took forever to install it, though. The only major incident we had in installing it was I didn't turn the water off to the dishwasher before disconnecting the water line. Ya, I got a nice shower on that one. The old dishwasher is the original one for the house. It still worked, but we wanted a new one to kindof match the other appliances we have bought. Just par for the course, learning how to do major things for myself so I can apply that knowledge later in life.
