For The First Time
Since being married, I have learned how to install and hook up a number of appliances. The first one I learned was a gas dryer and a washer. That knowledge has come in handy as we have moved a couple of times with our gas dryer. The second appliance I learned to hook up was a water line for the ice maker on a refrigerator. Again, that knowledge has come in handy in our new house when I had to hook up a different refrigerator. Since moving into our home here in West Jordan, I have learned how to repair and maintain a sprinkler system. Knowledge I know will come in handy in the future. This weekend, I learned a new one: a dishwasher. We found a new dishwasher this weekend. I didn't want to pay over a hundred dollars to have someone install, so I took it on myself to get it installed. With a lot of help from my wife, we were able to get it installed. Knocking on wood, everything appears to be working and nothing is leaking. It seemed like it took forever to install it, though. The only major incident we had in installing it was I didn't turn the water off to the dishwasher before disconnecting the water line. Ya, I got a nice shower on that one. The old dishwasher is the original one for the house. It still worked, but we wanted a new one to kindof match the other appliances we have bought. Just par for the course, learning how to do major things for myself so I can apply that knowledge later in life.
