Whole Lotta Shakin'

I get to work this morning. Everything was normal. I sat down at my desk and started checking my email and getting ready to start the day. This was about 7:15 a.m. Just then, I started to feel a little dizzy and I started to hear a roaring sound. I sit right next to a fairly busy aisle so I didn't think much of the noise. But the noise wouldn't stop. It just kept going on and on. Then I looked up and say the lights hanging from the ceiling. They were starting to sway. I turned to my coworker across the aisle and asked him if he felt anything. As it turns out, we just felt an earthquake. It was very unnerving because for those few seconds there, nothing was stable. Apparently, there was a 6.0 earthquake in eastern Nevada, 150 miles away from where we were and that's what we felt. It was a very unnerving feeling and we weren't even feeling the full brunt of it. We just felt what actually made it over to us from 150 miles away. I hope I never have to feel that kind of thing again.
